Pro-Ripple Lawyer John Deaton Fights for XRP in Passionate Discussion

Pro-Ripple Lawyer Defends XRP in Debate with Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren

Pro-Ripple lawyer John Deaton recently defended XRP during a heated debate with Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren. During the discussion, Deaton emphasized his role in representing Ripple against the lawsuit filed by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), stating that he aimed to protect retail investors.

Deaton noted that after XRP’s victory, Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen donated $1 million in XRP tokens to US Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign team. He also highlighted that his work on behalf of small retail investors led to this token being deemed legal and paved the way for the donation.

Furthermore, Deaton mentioned that one reason he became pro-crypto was to support the unbanked population and eliminate predatory banks. He refuted Warren’s claims about building an anti-crypto army, arguing that there are more pressing issues needing attention from the state.

Senator Warren maintained her stance on cryptocurrencies, asserting she is “fine” with people trading crypto as long as they follow the same rules as banks, stock brokerage companies, and other financial institutions. She called for guidelines such as consumer protection laws while ensuring crypto is not used for terrorism financing, drug trafficking, or human trafficking. However, she also suggested that Deaton might be biased towards cryptocurrency due to receiving donations from industry figures and having a substantial portion of his wealth held in digital assets.
