Nishad Singh’s Lawyers Ask for Lighter Prison Sentence in FTX Collapse

According to Bloomberg, the lawyers representing Nishad Singh have requested a Manhattan federal judge to reduce his prison sentence in connection with the collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX. Singh is alleged to have withdrawn $6 million in customer funds to Alameda Research.

In February, Singh was charged with fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. The court is expected to sentence Singh on October 30.

They highlighted the speed at which he cooperated with investigators and his response to the events at FTX. They claim Singh should receive a lighter sentence due to his limited involvement in the collapse and his “exceptional life” that he has vowed to lead.

The defense team described Singh as “an uncommonly selfless individual” and emphasized his cooperative attitude.
