According to BlockBeats, on September 18, according to official news, the Ethereum re-staking protocol EigenLayer announced the launch of a new feature, the programmatic incentive mechanism v1, which will reward newly minted EIGEN tokens to eligible stakers and their delegated operators in a programmatic manner every week.
These rewards will be retroactive based on staking as of August 15, 2024, and will be payable on a weekly basis starting in October 2024.
In the first year, Programmatic Incentives v1 will distribute 66,945,866 EIGEN, equivalent to 4% of the initial EIGEN token supply of 1,673,646,668 tokens.
