BlockBeats news, on September 12, according to Bloomberg, people familiar with the matter revealed that OpenAI is negotiating with investors to raise US$6.5 billion at a valuation of US$150 billion. The new valuation is significantly higher than the $86 billion valuation the company placed in a tender offer earlier this year.
At the same time, OpenAI is also in talks with banks to raise $5 billion in debt financing in the form of a revolving credit line, according to people familiar with the matter. Discussions are ongoing and terms may change.
Thrive Capital is expected to lead the round, with participation from Microsoft, the company’s largest investor, and Apple and Nvidia also in talks to invest.
