Trump’s Hush Money Case Withdrawn, New Deadline Set

A New York judge has approved President-elect Trump’s request to withdraw his “hush money” criminal case. The sentencing date was originally set for November 26. The case involves payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal for their silence about alleged affairs with Trump.

The judge has set a deadline of December 2 for Trump’s withdrawal motion submission, and prosecutors have until December 9 to respond. Trump’s lawyers argue that the case poses “unconstitutional obstacles” to his ability to govern and must be dropped.
