DMM Crypto, a part of the Japanese cryptocurrency exchange operator DMM, will shut down its Seamoon Protocol due to recent changes in the business environment. The company will not add new services to the ecosystem and is currently discussing future arrangements for the existing services. Seamoon Protocol operates on the SMP token in the DM2 Verse on the Oasys L2 blockchain and includes Seamoon Portal, a Web3 games and content website featuring games and anime produced by DMM.com.
In August, DMM Crypto partnered with stablecoin platform Progmat to issue its own stablecoin that can be used with fiat currencies and credit cards to boost the financial prospects of the ecosystem. However, due to challenges in the business environment, DMM Crypto decided to terminate the project early.
The Kanpani Girl Re: Bloom game, which debuted in October, is the first of five planned games, and operations will be ceased by January 31, 2025, due to cost-cutting measures.
