A man has been arrested in connection with the $230 million WazirX crypto exchange hack. The suspect, SK Masud Alam, allegedly set up an account on WazirX under the alias “Souvik Mondal”, which he later sold on Telegram to M. Hassan. The two are accused of attempting to breach the exchange’s hot and cold storage wallets.
The police confiscated three laptops used by the exchange’s key signatories in order to unravel the complex transaction trail surrounding the theft. This is the first major arrest in connection with the WazirX hack since it first came to light four months ago.
