Google Maps recently revealed some military positions in Ukraine in an update, inadvertently giving Russian forces an advantage. The head of Ukraine’s National Security Council’s counter-disinformation unit, Andriy Kovalenko, expressed concern about the update, as it made the location of Ukraine’s air defense systems available to the Russian military.
Google representatives quickly contacted the Ukrainian government and began addressing the issue, but no official statement has been released yet. In other news, North Korea has agreed to send up to 13,000 soldiers to support Russian troops, adding to Ukraine’s defense challenges.
