Spread the news

Shakeeb Ahmed, a former security engineer, has been handed a three-year sentence for his role in the hacking of two decentralized exchanges. This decision comes after Ahmed was found guilty of orchestrating the theft of over $12 million worth of cryptocurrency from these platforms.

Ahmed, who previously worked as a security engineer for renowned companies like Amazon, utilized his expertise to exploit vulnerabilities within the decentralized exchange protocols. These vulnerabilities allowed him to gain unauthorized access and siphon off significant amounts of digital assets.

The sentencing, delivered by U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero, also includes three years of supervised release following Ahmed’s prison term. This additional measure aims to ensure Ahmed’s compliance with legal obligations and to monitor his activities post-release.

Cryptocurrency investors and enthusiasts are advised to remain vigilant and prioritize platforms with strong security protocols in place
